TEAM BUILDING
Here at RB Outdoors, we believe team building has many advantages, whether it is for year 5 students or adults in a work place. There are many benefits and here are just a few that we think are important:

Boosts Confidence — Enhances Team Work — Improves Communication
Builds Relationships — Instils Sense of Responsibility
If these benefits look like some of the values you want to start to achieve, then have a look at the 3 different sessions we have to offer below.

TEAM BUILDING SESSIONS
STARBURST
This session is suited for Key Stages 2 and 3. The day will be run as a competition and students will score themselves against 5 basic values which can be tailored to fit in with your school's values if required.
This can be run as an all day session or as a half day session depending on your time frame. The session is designed for the students to work together and get to know other people in their form group, an ice breaker, if you will. It is also great to have as an end of year fun activity before they move on to secondary school or year 10.
TAKE THE LEAD
This is a great session which suits Key Stage 4. This session is based on scoring themselves against 5 values which can be tailored to specific learning outcomes or just for plain old FUN!!
The tasks will be chosen to offer more of a challenge for students to gain specific outcomes chosen by you. This can be run as an all day session or as a half day session depending your time frame.

An optional extra of a climbing wall could be offered depending on numbers and time available.
STAFF TEAM BUILDING DAY
If your team has had a busy period of time or is about to have a busy period, then our team building day might just be what you're looking for.

We can build a bespoke day that suits your needs and budget and allows you to get what you require. Whether it's just fun or looking at how to develop your teamwork, we want to help you achieve your goals.
PRICE
For the staff team building day the session can be tailored to your needs. Please fill out the enquiry form below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Starburst and Take the Lead sessions work on 1:60 ratio. Each team has up to 10 students plus a school staff member or sixth former. If you use sixth form students to keep costs down there must be 1 teacher for every 60 students (including sixth form students) present at all times. If you are unable to have a leader per team and require an additional instructor please let us know beforehand.

Each enquiry is different so please get in touch below for a bespoke quotation for your team build event.
ENQUIRY FORM
In the additional information section below, please give any information you think we may need that will affect your day or quote.
THE INS AND OUTS OF THE SESSION
Starburst and Take the Lead Sessions
HOW DOES THE STARBURST SESSION WORK?
We aim to arrive 1 hour before the session starts to set up the activities and make sure you are happy with the day's logistics.
Once the group arrives there will be a short presentation introducing ourselves, what the session contains and the workings of the activity.
While the presentation is happening one of the instructors will be briefing the leaders (staff or sixth form students) on how the scoring and the session works.
The session starts. The students will have access to up to 34 activities to test their teamwork and communication skills.
The students choose an activity and collect the briefing sheet before heading off to look for the activity.
Once at the activity, they take it in turns to read the brief and work out how to solve the problem together.
Once the task is complete, the group scores themselves against 5 different criteria.
They return the briefing sheet and repeat the process for as many activities as they can.
At the end, we gather in all the scores and find out the winning team.
HOW DOES THE TAKE THE LEAD SESSION WORK?
We aim to arrive 1 hour before the session starts to set up the activities and make sure you are happy with the day's logistics.
Once the group arrives there will be a short presentation introducing ourselves, what the session contains and the workings of the activity.
While the presentation is happening one of the instructors will be briefing the leaders (staff or sixth form students) on how the scoring and the session works.
The session starts with each team on an activity and they have 30 minutes to complete the challenge and score themselves if required. The teams then rotate around the tasks to complete as many as they can within the timings of the day.
At the end, we gather in all the scores and find out the winning team if needed.
DO YOU DO A GROUP REVIEW AT THE END?
If you want us to do a group review or competition to help with learning then we will be happy to help.
HOW MANY ACTIVITIES WILL THE STUDENTS COMPLETE?
Typically between 7 and 10 activities for a full day, depending on their teamwork. If they seem to be completing the tasks too easily we can step in and choose a harder activity or instigate a review to aim their learning.
DO WE OFFER LEARNING MODELS FOR THE SESSION?
We can offer learning models for the session if required. If this is something you would like as part of your session please request this in the comment section of the enquiry form.
HOW MANY INSTRUCTORS DO YOU PROVIDE?
Our ratio is 1:60. If you are unable to provide leaders for the teams or if you would like more instructors for ongoing reviews with teams, then more instructors can be requested.
HOW DO WE PAY?
An invoice for a deposit (20%) will be sent to confirm the booking. The final invoice will be sent AFTER the event with the day's final numbers, so you never pay more than the number on the day!
WHAT DO YOU PROVIDE?
We will provide all the activity equipment and instructors for the session and a prize for the winning team.
WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE?
We need a location to run the session – ideally a school playing field or a football pitch size. We will also need a member of staff or sixth form student for each of the teams. We also require vehicle access to the location 1 hr before the event to set up.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
We will carry on if it rains or shines, but if it is due to be horrible all day then an indoor location will work depending on numbers as it will get very loud and very cramped! If not, then we will rebook when appropriate.
WHAT DO THE STUDENTS NEED?
Trainers, waterproof, lunch, water bottle and any necessary medication. It's up to you to decide if they wear uniform or not but there is the potential for clothing to get wet or muddy.
DO YOU PROVIDE FIRST AID?
Although we will help out in a first aid situation the responsibility for providing first aid is up to you. However, all our instructors are first-aid trained and we will have a first aid kit with us and can respond if required.
TIMING FOR THE DAY?
We will fit in with your school's timing for lunch and breaks; just let us know on the day.
CAN WE SWAP STAFF DURING THE SESSION?
Yes. As long as we have at least 1 teacher for 60 students (including sixth form students if used) we can carry on. Unfortunately we can not operate on our own on school grounds.
CAN WE HAVE HALF THE YEAR GROUP IN THE MORNING AND HALF THE YEAR IN THE AFTERNOON?
Yes. As long as the numbers are similar, i.e. 50/50, we will charge as a whole day. If the numbers are different, let us know in the enquiry form and it will be adjusted in the quote.
ARE YOUR STAFF DBS CHECKED?
The lead instructor is Enhanced DBS checked. All other instructors will more than likely have DBS but will be under the supervision of the lead instructor while on site, and there should be at least one teacher present.
DO YOU HAVE A RISK ASSESSMENT?
Yes, the session does have a risk assessment, and you are more then welcome to have a copy if you require it.
Have a question that is not answered? Please ask through the enquiry form.
